# Marrakech Marathon 2027: Staying Connected on Race Weekend

Published: 2026-08-27

The **37th Marrakech International Marathon** is on **Sunday 31 January 2027**. If you are running it, the logistics below matter more than they look — particularly the bib collection window, which decides your flights.

## The confirmed schedule

- **Marathon (42.195 km):** Sunday 31 January, start **07:45**.

- **Half marathon (21.1 km):** Sunday 31 January, start **09:15**.

- **Course For All (5 km):** Saturday 30 January, start **09:00**.

- **Bib collection:** Thursday 29 and Friday 30 January, **09:30–19:30**, Koutoubia Square.

- **Online entries close:** **24 January 2027**.

Because collection closes on Friday evening, you need to be in Marrakech by Friday at the latest. For most runners that makes it a four or five day trip, not a weekend.

Confirm times on the official race site before booking non-refundable flights.

## Why a group connection beats individual SIMs here

Race weekend is the clearest case we see for a shared router rather than a SIM each. A typical group is a runner plus two or three supporters, and everyone needs data at the same moments:

- **Supporters leapfrogging the course.** Two or three people navigating between viewing points, all needing maps and live location at 08:30 on a Sunday.

- **Live tracking.** Following a runner’s tracker while moving across the city is a steady data drain on somebody’s phone.

- **The runner carries almost nothing.** Most people run with a phone on flight mode or no phone at all — so the connection needs to live with the support crew, not the athlete.

- **Phone battery is the real constraint.** Using one phone as a hotspot for three others will flatten it by lunchtime. A router with up to 8 hours of battery does that job instead.

One of our routers covers **up to 10 devices** on unlimited 4G with no daily cap and no throttling, up to 300 Mbps on Maroc Telecom.

## What it costs

What the router costs for a race weekend. Our rate is a flat €4.90 per device per day, VAT included, minimum two days; delivery and collection are free and the €50 deposit is refunded.

| Length of stay | Router total | Per person if 4 of you share it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 3 days | €14.70 | €3.68 |
| 5 days | €24.50 | €6.12 |
| 7 days | €34.30 | €8.58 |
| 10 days | €49.00 | €12.25 |

A five-day trip is **€24.50** for the router. Split between four people that is about **€6 each for the whole weekend** — less than a single airport SIM card, and nobody has to register a passport or swap out their home SIM.

## Practical notes

- **We deliver and collect free**, including at Marrakech Menara airport, and same-day delivery is possible subject to availability. Nothing is posted to you and nothing has to be posted back.

- **Add a power bank for €1.90 a day** if the crew is out from 06:30 to lunchtime. It is the accessory people wish they had booked.

- **Agree a meeting point at the finish before the start.** The finish area is loud and crowded and phones are the backup plan, not the plan.

- **Late January is 10 °C at the start and around 18–20 °C by early afternoon.** Warm enough at the finish to want the throwaway layer gone.

Booking is a two-day minimum and the daily rate is flat, so a race weekend needs no calculation beyond 4.90 × the number of days.
